After 57 years, the Midland condos at 601 S West Street is getting a facelift. Built in 1969, the Midland project through this summer is being done in collaboration with Bryan May Architecture and Aspen Valley Construction. The pine trees which once fronted the building are no more and the more modern/contemporary look is coming to fruition.

The Midland isn't the only Aspen condo complex from the 1960's to get a facelift. Fifth Ave Condo got a facelift around a decade ago and when I sat an open house there recently, several of the parties that stopped by (visitors and locals) could have sworn it was a newer building and shocked it was built in 1965.
